Bradford City keeper Matt Clarke has decided
against joining Premiership newcomers Fulham on loan.
Last week the 27-year-old announced that he was joining the Cottagers in
a one-month loan agreement but he now appears to have changed his mind and
is currently training with the Bantams.
It is the latest twist in a long-running saga for the played who joined
Bradford City in July 1999 on a four-year contract from Sheffield Wednesday.
He played a large part in the Bantams first Premiership season but when
Jim Jefferies came to Valley Parade midway through last season as manager,
Clarke was controversially dropped.
Clarke helped Bolton Wanderers win promotion to the Premiership via the
play-offs whilst on loan at the Reebok Stadium and it was thought that he
would seal a permanent deal with Sam Allardyce's side during the summer.
However, that never materialised and now it looks as though Clarke will
start the new campaign with the Bantams after all.
