FULHAM have confirmed that they have signed
Bradford City goalkeeper Matt Clarke in a one-month loan deal.
The 27-year-old, who is due back from holiday on Saturday, will fly straight
out to join Fulham in Luxembourg where they are playing a friendly next
week.
Clarke is likely to be given the chance of winning a permanent switch to
the Premiership new boys, if he impresses manager Jean Tigana during his
month-long spell at Craven Cottage.
Fulham currently have Northern Ireland international Maik Taylor as their
number one, with inexperienced American Marcus Hahnemann and youngster Glynn
Taylor as back up and Clarke will be hoping that he can provide some much-needed
competition for places.
Clarke lost favour at Bradford last year after failing to agree a new contract
at Valley Parade and spent the latter part of the season on loan at Bolton.
A number of clubs have been linked with Clarke, who has been very impressive
for The Bantams in recent seasons, and even Liverpool and Arsenal were credited
with interest in the past.
However, Bradford are now looking to offload the wantaway shot-stopper and
could allow him to leave for less than £1 million.
