Referee Kevin Friend started refereeing at the age of 14 in his home county of Leicestershire.
He was promoted to the National List of Referees in 2003, and later to the Select Group of Referees ahead of the 2009-10 season. His first Premier League fixture was in September 2009 in
a 2-1 victory for Wolves over Fulham.
Ref Friend last bossed a Fulham game in October 2018 when Fulham lost 4-2 at Cardiff in a Premiership game. He booked six players, three from each side. The Fulham players were Chambers (19,f), McDonald (36,f) and Johansen (45+3,f),
Prior to the Cardiff game he refed Fulham in August of this season when we beat Exeter 2-0, both scored by Kamara. He booked three players all Exeter players.
Huddersfield last had the pleasure of Mr Friend's company back in November this season when they beat Wolves 2-0 away. Mr Friend booked three player, two from Huddersfield.
Last season he reffed 33 games, dished out 66 yellows, so an unusually low average of 2 yellows per game and a well below average 1 red. This season so far he has refed 18 games dishing out 76 yellows and one red card so an higher than average 4.2 yellows per game.
His busiest games in recent times were the games between Liverpool and Chelsea in the League Cup in September this season when he yellow carded five Liverpool players and three from Chelsea and Southampton versus Man Utd, in December 2018, when he yellow carded eight players, four from each team.
