Referee Kevin Friend started refereeing at the age of 14 in his home county of Leicestershire.

He was promoted to the National List of Referees in 2003, and later to the Select Group of Referees ahead of the 2009-10 season. His first Premier League fixture was in September 2009 in a 2-1 victory for Wolves over Fulham.

Ref Friend last bossed a Fulham game in December 2018 when we beat Huddersfield 1-0 at The Cottage, it was the Kamara penalty game. He booked three Fulham players, Seri (25,f), Odoi (44,f), Christie (64,f), and one Huddersfield player.

Prior to this game Mr Friend last bossed a Fulham game inOctober 2018 when Fulham lost 4-2 at Cardiff in a Premiership game. He booked six players, three from each side. The Fulham players were Chambers (19,f), McDonald (36,f) and Johansen (45+3,f).

Before to the Cardiff game he refed Fulham in August of 2018 when we beat Exeter 2-0 in the League Cup, both scored by Kamara. He booked three players all Exeter players.

Man City last had the pleasure of Mr Friend's company March 2nd this 2019 when they beat Bournemouth 1-0 away. Mr Friend booked two City players and one Bournemouth player.

Last season he reffed 33 games, dished out 66 yellows, so an unsually low average of 2 yellows per game and a well below average 1 red. This season so far he has refed 32 games dishing out 111 yellows and two red cards so an increased average of 3.5 yellows per game.

His busiest games in recent times were the games between Liverpool and Chelsea in the League Cup in September this season when he yellow carded five Liverpool players and three from Chelsea and Southampton versus Man Utd when he yellow carded eight players, four from each team.
