Referee Oliver Langford has been a League referee since August 2008 prior to which he reffed in the Blue Sq Premier.
He has refereed over 200 EFL matches and has taken charge of many high profile games, including several play-off semi-finals. In summer of 2016 he became part of the Select Group 2 of fulltime Championship referees.
Ref Langford last reffed Fulham on Boxing Day last year when Fulham beat Ipswich 2-0 at Portman Road. Mr Langford's cards had a relatively quiet game with only a card for two Ipswich players and McDonald of Fulhan, for a foul, de
spite a total of 25 fouls during the whole game.
Just three weeks previously he bossed the Reading game at The Cottage in the crushing of Reading 5-0. Mr Langford took a strong dislike to Reading yellow carding five players, four from Reading, and red carding another Reading player for kicking out at Stefan Johansen.
Ref Langford reffed Fulham once in the 2015/2016 season finale 1-0 victory against Bolton in which no one was yellow or red carded.
Middlesbrough were last bossed by Ref Langford in April 2016 when they beat Preston 1-0 at Riverside Stadium.
This season he has refed 11 games and waved his yellow card 28 times and that includes one game when he gave out 7 yellows and two games where he issued 6 yellows in each game.
Last season Ref Langford was in charge of 44 games and gave out 129 yellows, a low average of just over 2.9 yellows per game, and 5 reds. Strangely the reds were all issued in the six game taking place between 25th November and 31st December, whatever was bugging Mr Langford disappeared as quick as it showed up.
His busiest game in the last season and a bit was the Swindon versus Bristol Rovers game back in September 2016 when he dished out 9 yellows, 6 to the visitors and three to the home side.
