Referee Paul Tierney was promoted to the Select Group of Referees ahead of the 2015/16 season after a successful seven years on the National List.
The Lancashire FA official became a member of the National Group of Referees ahead of the 2009/10 campaign, with Macclesfield Town against Notts County on the opening weekend of the League Two season being the first fixture he refereed.
Ref Tierney reffed Fulham twice last season, the most recent was the
1-1 draw away at Ipswich in April when he booked Scott Parker late on for a foul and earlier in the season the
1-0 home defeat by Hull when he yellow carded Dan Burn and 3 Hull players. This was Slavisa Jokanovic's first game in charge.

Tierney reffed a Hull game was in their 1-1 home draw against West Brom in
November 2016. He booked three Hull players and two West Brom players.
