Referee Tony Harrington began refereeing in the Teesside Junior Football Alliance at the age of 14 years old, having completed the basic referee course whilst at school as part of the Duke of Edinburgh award.
After 4 years as an EFL Assistant Referee and 4 years as a National League Referee Tony was appointed to the EFL referee list in 2012/13 and has now refereed over 100 EFL matches. He is now part of the new elite Select Group 2 of full-time referees to officiate at Sky Bet Championship matches.
The last time Ref Harrington bossed Fulham was in September of last year when we won 2-0 away at Burton Albion. Ref Harrington booked just one player, Chris O'Grady of Burton.
His most recent previous visit was in September 2016 when we were
beaten 1-0 at home by Birmingham. Ref Harrington booked 5 players two were from Fulham one of which, Madl, he booked twice and therefore sent off in the 44th minute.
Mr Harrington reffed Cardiff’s 2-1 defeat away to Newcastle in November, the 4-3 loss at home to Barnsley in December and the 2-1 defeat to Reading at the Madjeski Stadium in January.
Last season he refed 34 games and dished out 121 yellows and 4 reds, so an average 3.6 yellows per game.
His busiest game this season was Reading v Sheff Wed, which Reading won 2-1, when he booked 9 players, 6 of them from Sheff Wed.
