Referee Andrew Madley, 32, took up the whistle in 2002 at the age of 18 after an injury playing at Huddersfield Town academy. He started out in his local divisions and began to progress through the supply lines from 2004 before becoming a Premier League linesman in 2009.
He has been a referee, on the Football League National Referee List, since the opening day of the 2011-12 season. In summer 2016 Ref Madley became part of the Select Group 2 for full time Football League referees.
The last time Mr Madley reffed Fulham was last season in November 2015 in a 3-1 away defeat at Burnley and he kept his cards in his pocket
Referee Madley also had the pleasure of reffing two Fulham games previously a 1-1 away draw at Charlton, in April 2015, in which he booked Dan Burn and Scott
Parker.
He also reffed Fulham in the March when Bournemouth thrashed us 5-1. He sent off Amorebieta in the 69th minute for bringing down Wilson, as the last
man he had to go, and he also yellow carded Fofana in the 89th minute for a foul.
Aston Villa have not yet had the pleasure of being reffed by Mr Madley.
Last season he refed 40 games and dished out 118 yellows and 3 reds, an under average rate of just over 2.9 yellows per game so not too bad. In 12 games this season, so far, he has waved his yellow card on average 3.0 times per game with no reds
