Referee Stuart Attwell, 35 years old, made history as the youngest Premier League referee at 25 years old when he took charge of Blackburn and Hull in August 2008.
Ref Attwell graduated from Staffordshire University in 2004. Refereeing had been a lifelong ambition for him, according to his father. Attwell worked his way up from local games to non-League football, then to the West Midlands League and the Football League.
Ref Attwell became infamous for, amongst other controversial decisions, the ghost goal for Reading at Watford in 2008 when the ball clearly went wide of the post. He was suspended from the Premier League for two years
He last reffed Fulham in May 2017 during the1-1 home draw with ruffians Reading in the first leg of the playoffs. He booked two players from each team, Malone (54,d), McDonald (56,f) for Fulham, and sent off a Reading player in the 80th minute.
Prior to this Mr Attwell refed Fulham in the 2-1 home defeat by Brighton. He yellow carded 5 players three fron Brighton along with Fulham's Smith and Fredericks, both for fouls.
Mr Attwell last refed Birmingham back in March 2016, Birmingham lost 2-0 away at Blackburn, and four Blackburn and one Birmingham players were yellow cardedplayers
Last season he refed 27 games and dished out 90 yellows and 8 reds, 3.3 yellows per game.
This season so far he has refed 28 games and dished out 94 yellows and 3 reds so 3.4 yellows per game but a reduction in the number of reds issued.
He enjoyed the Brighton 2-1 win over Sheff Wed back in Janury 2016 when he yellow carded five players and then sent off one from Brighton and two from Sheffield Wednesday. This season his busiest game was the Middlesbrough v Wolves clash which Wolves won 2-1. Ref Attwell booked three Boro players and five Wolves players. He then went on to give second yellow reds to two Wolves players
