Referee Andy Woolmer |
Referee Andy Woolmer, age 49 years,
used to keep fit by walking his route around Northampton as a postman. He has been a National List referee since 2004 which was some twenty years after he first started refereeing at aged just sixteen.
He graduated through the United Counties League, Southern League and Conference route to the Football League National panel. Prior to achieving this he was also an Assistant for a total of ten seasons, which included four on the Select Group.
In the summer of 2016 he was appointed to the Select Group 2 of fulltime
Championshp referees.
The last time Ref Woolmer bossed a Fulham game was on the
15th April 2016 in the
5-0 thrashing away at Brighton of the four players he yellow carded three were from Fulham, O'Hara, Fredericks and Christensen, all for fouls.
Derby last had the pleasure of being bossed by Ref Woolmer in September 2016 when they drew
1-1 away at Bristol City.
Last season he refed 37 games and dished out 109 yellows and
2 reds, an under average rate of just about 2.9 yellows per game so not too bad. He is one of only
nine refs out of 64 who issued 2 or less red cards last season
This season so far he has reffed
21 games, dished out 45 yellows, again an under average rate of just about 2.1 yellows, and
one red so similar to last season
