29 points from 19 games. Unbeaten in December (which included Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea away). More goals made and scored by subs than any other team in the prem but according to some of you lot; “our substitutions are woeful”. All of this whilst losing three of our best players in the world’s best league. Try to be realistic - we are not a big club and we can’t spend billions on players - Marco is a magician and I got one am very proud of the club!!

I was timing the added five minutes and by my watch the penalty was awarded well after the announced 5 minutes of overtime. I agree with another poster on this board who said a klaxon should go off after the announced time ending the game. The referee even had the cheek to restart the game after the penalty to make it look like he hadn’t allowed too much overtime and blew up at nearly 10 mins of overtime. I’m surprised Marco didn’t mention it in his post match interview.

It looks like a penalty to me under the present regulation. No matter how much or how little Reed touched him it is a penalty, the fouled player throwing himself down is the norm, our players would do it in the same circumstances.

I refereed for 35 years and having watched the incident 6/7 times I am convinced it was a self inflicted foul.it might be useful, if anyone has the time, to check to see how many times Pedro has earned penalties for Brighton.

I agree your point about Diop but he only plays ocassionaly and is not renound for his ability on the ball. What does concern me is the negativeness of Berge. That is unacceptable there’s no point in the referee announcing how many minutes he’s adding on if he intends allowing the game to go on until the home team scores. He should have realised he had played more than the allocated 5 minutes and not given the penalty the commentators said the player went looking for it anyway. Then he tries to justify the extra extra minutes by allowing the KO after the penalty and play to resume. He may as well have allowed another 5 minutes. Making it 15 extra minutes in total.

Yes, today's result was very disappointing, but it's a case of we must take it on the chin and move on. We have v a difficult set of fixtures coming up, and we must hope that a couple of injuries to some major players are healed soon, and more important at this stage, we can see off Palace in the FA Cup quarter final, and we must forget trying for a European spot, as we haven't at present, a strong enough squad, but it will happen soon.

How can a player have so much time and be unmarked to equalize, and then the 96 th minute penalty, schoolboy stuff. Too many misplaced passes and second to balls. Diop didn’t have a great game, but at times put under unnecessary pressure by dodgy balls (Leno, Anderson etc). Brighton were there for the taking, and as per usual one goal not enough. Robinson was bad today, not only Diop, but too many ineffective and lack lustre. Hopefully we can turn over Spurs next week, but they are below us in the league…..

A large majority of Fulham fans still think we need to strengthen and that may be the case if Jimenez and Muniz don't deliver goals galore. With only ten games remaining, i can't see those two scoring hattricks and braces to bump up their goal tallies and it looks like Marco will pursue his hunt for another young striker in the summer. Muniz i think is a really good prospect for the future and he will get better and better and we shouldn't sell him. Jimenez has done well and the best he can do given the circumstances of his well documented injury and i think he will play out the rest of his career so far at Fulham doing what he is doing now and thats it.

You are of course right bigboy, respect for your fellow mans opinions, and contributing your own thoughts is the old way. Seem to remember the saying " I disagree with what you say, but I will fight for the right for you to say it" Being frightened of voicing your thoughts in a constructive way, means losing your freedoms earned over generations of people suffering to achieve these freedoms. When leaders of major nuclear powers , feel it is ok to hurl abuse, threaten repercussions as a way forward, without this respect leaves us all less safer. My previous post was a gentle note to a Brentford fan suggesting that they had exited the FA Cup. But I do hope that if we can't win the cup then Bournemouth, Crystal Palace or Brighton can, this new name on the trophy, will give their supporters as much joy as me if FFC could win it.

Liverpool's keeper has to make lots of saves however as the opposition gave Liverpool no space and moved the ball from front to back quickly. It is not long before we play Liverpool again and I am sure Marco will learn from that. All good teams score late goals, by bringing on fast subs to take advantage of tiring defences.

One of the difficulties of being a Fulham supporter is because we never win anything worth having it is tempting to have second team to support who do win things without usually admitting. Of course the point being made is if you keep the opposition from scoring, no matter how poor your midfield and striker are playing their is always a chance you can sneak a winner.

We started poorly but as the match went on we became much better and Man U, they stayed as bad. That useless commentary team just commentated on the few good passes Man U produced and never our control of the game. It is catch 22 for the keeper as he knows if he does not dive the penalty takers can slot it passed each side of him. Well who expected us to win a penalty shoot out for a change, but the lads did it this time. I'm happy to have received a home draw, but Palace might be harder to beat than United, but we have score to settle with that lot. We didn't play to well against a poor United side, who can thank their keeper for going to extra time. My MOTM was Bassey, not nobody had a really bad game.

Marco's most clever move was to mirror the Wolves formation which gave us lots of space on the wings and four players to exploit it. Wolves tried to exploit the wings as well but did not have four players of the class of ours. The most splendid thing was the five changes made did not in any may make us look worse, in fact most of the so called reserves had brilliant games. We have a squad ousting with glass, one of the best in the Division thanks to Marco's great skill in improving players beyond recognition.

This is not something you learn from a manager and if it was every Fulham player would be doing it every week. Muniz scored one of quality and it was a peach of a build up and pass from Traore. The only problem is i think Muniz knows he is decent and he now has a swagger about him which tells me that sooner or later he will want more and he is ambitious. The disadvantage of this is other clubs will seek our best players in the summer. To counter this we have become very much stronger in keeping players here but we also have a fantastic buying team who will find good players to replace any that leave. The main problem is if we get into a European competition we will need a larger squad so we will need to anticipate what we earn from the competition to pay for them. It is all very complex but the Club has become excellent in many ways to fully support an excellent manager.

A very different game where we had to defend and attack on the break which we performed brilliantly. The period after our second goal Wolves nearly attacked incessantly but we defended very well indeed. I thought the Forest game was our best game of the season but this beat it for the tremendous defending. The subs brought on all did there part and Marco tactics of playing three centre backs mirroring Wolves was brilliant. A really great win, lets hope this has broken our losing to poor teams bad habit.

What delighted me more than anything,was the much criticised by some fans, Anderson, plaing a blinder, and he could well win the MOTM, but both Troare and Muniz could just beat him to it. It was nice to get our revenge from that 1-4 defeat at home. Now on to OT on Sunday.

Absolutely agree. What's the point of an Academy if these kids have no pathway through to the senior team. As Glen states, why develop players for so called big teams to poach. I think Silva is a blocker manager and it would not be surprise me if King doesn't sign a mediocre contract and his agent will state "hold on son, you can do better than this" and he will be off, like Carvalho, Elliott before him. The Club seems to run the Academy like a benevolent society, for the benefit of others, not us.
posted by mwk (Guest) - Monday 24th February 2025, 10:19 AM The very poor Luke Harris at 18 years old was offered a long term contract until 2026 with an option for a further year on high wages simply because of rumours that circulated at that time that Chelsea were looking to sign him for 30 million which was what it was a rumour but benefited the boy with high wages and a long contract. Harris is a regular sub in division one with Birmingham and will be back from his loan in the Summer. This boy was hyped up to be the next big thing based on goals scored at U21 level. He has no chance whatsoever of making it in Fulham’s first team and is now 20 years old. Josh King and Martial Godo are the now and future of the club and need to be nurtured and rewarded and not be sent on loan.

Plus of course that, no manager in their right mind, would want to take the Spurs job. In a couple of seasons time, if the Khans do not back Marco to the hilt with new signings in the summer window, then maybe MS, might have second thoughts. If we don't progress over a couple of seasons, I will expect you Ted, to turn in your ST, and you won't be alone in doing that, as there are plenty of teams around London and Sussex, who will be grateful for our funds.

A club like Fulham will have a smaller squad with the best players it can afford, fit and ready now to be on the team sheet. We can’t take too many expansive gambles on young players, and we likely have to sell them if a club with a bigger budget comes in for them with a juicey offer. I think that sums up the situation with Fábio Carvalho who, having been bought speculatively by Liverpool, didn’t quite develop there as they had hoped.

Thats my point also Jeremy. Our slow deliberate buildups starting from Leno doing the creep forward doesn't always work. It worked perfectly against Forest simply because we managed to play keep-ball for the most percentage of the game but Palace didn't allow us that. We got bullied and out-muscled and out skilled which is a concern. Teams going forward will always look at our way of playing and visa versa and against Palace was the day we got found out. I studied Marco Silva pondering and thinking what to do next and he looked very perplexed and thoughtful more than usual. Let's be honest, Marco's usual self is a man with agitation and passionate on the touchline but he was a lot more subdued more than usual. To tell you the truth when Hodgson was in charge and Zaha was at Palace we had a torrid time against them. They have an handful of tricky players we just could not deal with and we can learn lessons for future reference. The stand-out highlight that made the afternoon a little more jovial was Andersen indicating the time to hurry up, that was funny. One tricky player against is usually enough to contend with but Palace have 3-4 guys that can turn you. Will Hughes is a shewd operator and he was worth the money they paid for him from Derby. Sometimes the way to win a midfield is to go like Hughes and the mind-games do work sometimes...
