Premier League strugglers Blackburn have tabled a bid for Fulham striker Andrew Johnson according to SkySports.

Sky Sports revealed at the start of January that Queens Park Rangers were keen to land the former England international, with the Rs having an offer knocked back by the Cottagers.

That move was made during Neil Warnock's reign at Loftus Road, and they have now turned their attention elsewhere following Mark Hughes' appointment as boss.

Blackburn are set to pick up the chase, though, with the Ewood Park outfit in desperate need of fresh faces.

They sit bottom of the Premier League table, with three points separating them from top flight safety.

Goals have not been the problem for Rovers - as they have scored more than sixth-placed Liverpool - but added firepower is never a bad thing.

Under-fire boss Steve Kean feels Johnson would bring something different to his side and he has made a move to bring the 30-year-old forward on board.

Johnson's contract at Craven Cottage expires at the end of the season and he is yet to agree fresh terms with the West London club.
