Andy Melville selected for Wales

Fulham skipper Andy Melville has been included in the Wales squad for the glamour friendly against Argentina as has our old friend Kit Symons, now doing well at Crystal Palace.

Andy has been named in Mark Hughes' 22-man squad for the game, which will be played at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

The game was only given the go-ahead on Monday night when the FA of Wales received written confirmation from Argentina that they would be coming.

The game was organised in just four days after the South Americans had requested to play under the stadium's closed roof in preparation for their World Cup group match on June 7 against England in Sapporo, Japan's indoor stadium.

SQUAD - GOALKEEPERS: Paul Jones (Southampton), Darren Ward (Nottm For), Mark Crossley (Boro), Danny Coyne (Grimsby).

DEFENDERS: Mark Delaney (Aston Villa), Andrew Melville (Fulham), Kit Symons (C Palace), Robert Page (Sheff Utd), Darren Barnard (Barnsley).

MIDFIELDERS: John Robinson (Charlton), Andy Johnson (WBA), Jason Koumas (Tranmere), Mark Pembridge (Everton), Simon Davies (Tottenham), Carl Robinson (Wolves), Robbie Savage (Leicester), Gary Speed (Newcastle).
