Fulham international defender Andy Melville today threatened to walk out on Fulham at the end of the season after the club tried to cut his wages.
The Wales defender is angry about the club's offer of a one-year extension to his existing deal for a lower basic salary.

He said: "I've never asked to leave but I was very disappointed with the offer they made me. I've turned it down and as things stand I will be available on a free transfer in the summer.
"I've got no problem with just a year extension because, at 34, I'm realistic about how long I've got left at the top level but their offer meant taking a significant cut in my basic wage, which I wasn't happy about."
Melville is anxious to sort out his future before his contract ends.
He added: "In no way am I trying to hold the club to ransom but I was shocked when they asked me to take such a big cut. I feel I've done enough to deserve a more realistic deal but the club obviously don't see things that way.
"I hope next season will be a huge one for me in terms of Wales and, fingers crossed, the Euro 2004 finals and I'm keen to have my future sorted out long before then.
"I feel it's important I'm still playing top-flight football as the finals draw closer but that doesn't mean I'm prepared to accept a poor contract offer."
