Arsene Wenger is reported to be interested in signing Thierry Henry but if he fails
Bobby Zamora has been lined up for a move to The Emirates.
Starsport understands the Gunners have sounded out Fulham about the possibility of an exchange deal involving their striker Marouane Chamakh.
Wenger is ready to offload the Moroccan and is willing to use him as a bargaining tool if he goes for Zamora.
With Chamakh and Gervinho off to the African Cup of Nations next week, Henry would provide a perfect short-term solution for Wenger.
England international Zamora, who is keen to cement a place at Euro 2012, looks set to quit Fulham next month following a falling-out with Martin Jol, his boss at Craven Cottage.
Wenger is a fan of the striker and is happy to let Chamakh go to Craven Cottage.
Arsenal, though, are aware Jol may not be keen to sign a player who will go almost straight off to the Africa after joining.
But Wenger only sees Zamora as an alternative to Henry and has no intention of trying to bring in both strikers.
