FULHAM top goal scorer Barry Hayles
has pledged to make up for Fulham fans' miserable evening at Ipswich on
Wednesday with a sparkling showing against Villa.
The Cottagers travelling support endured an unhappy journey back to the
capital from Suffolk after Marcus Bent's 10th-minute strike earned a 1-0
victory for Ipswich.

Now Hayles, who was unable to force the equaliser at Portman Road after
his half-time introduction as a substitute, admits Jean Tigana's men must
claim victory on Saturday to keep their European dream alive.
The midweek reverse left the Londoners in 10th, nine points adrift of
sixth-placed Chelsea.
Hayles said: "Hopefully, we can bounce back strongly. We've got
two home games up and we're looking to get all six points and climb up
the table. We want to be pushing for Europe and we all want that badly.
"The team are very determined to put on a good show against Villa
for the fans. A lot of supporters went to Ipswich and we sent them home
disappointed.
"Everybody was very upset with the performance at Ipswich - the
manager especially. He doesn't shout, but he made it very clear that he
thought we should have done better.
"We were all in for a meeting yesterday morning to go through what
went wrong. He said we should have been more clinical and approached it
in a more positive frame of mind.
"Jean Tigana's not someone you want to be on the wrong side of and
we know we should have done more. He's trying to sort that out and get
us back to winning ways."
Fulham's first campaign in the Barclaycard Premiership has been undermined
by the team's season-long inability to put the ball in the back of the
net on a regular basis.
That has been surprising given the goals glut that took the Cottagers romping
to their Division One title last year.
