Former Fulham striker Luis Boa Morte quit South African Premiership leaders Orlando Pirates on Monday after less than four months at the Soweto club.
The 34-year-old former Portuguese international signed an 18-month contract last January, but made only two starts for one of the most popular and successful South African football clubs.
"Boa Morte has written a letter citing his intention to leave and the club has acceded to the request," a statement said on Monday.
The final round of the league takes place this weekend, with Pirates two points ahead of Moroka Swallows
