Rufus Brevett believes Fulham's UEFA Cup debut will seem like a dream tonight for players who began their Craven Cottage adventure in the Second Division only four years ago.
Brevett's first six games for Fulham in 1998 included a draw against Grimsby and defeats to Blackpool, Bournemouth and Oldha
m. So he could be forgiven for pinching himself as he heads for Croatia this evening and a UEFA Cup first-round tie against Hadjuk Split.
"Everyone is excited," he said. "It's the first time the club has qualified for Europe and it means a lot to people. I came here when Fulham were in Division Two and I have to admit the UEFA Cup seemed a million miles away."
