Michael Browne has lashed out at Sean Davis, saying he was ‘sickened’ by accusations that he tried to break his former Spurs team-mate’s leg.

Portsmouth star Davis claimed Brown made a calculated attempt to cause a serious injury in Saturday’s clash at Fulham.

Brown was red-carded for a two-footed horror lunge during Fulham’s 3-1 home defeat.

But Brown insisted: “I was surprised at the comments made by Sean Davis. To be accused of deliberately going into a challenge in an attempt to cause damage is absolutely sickening.

“I am bitterly disappointed to learn he said the tackle was intentional.

“I was devastated that I was sent off and I am more than sorry about that. But to then hear that I’m supposed to have done this deliberately is ridiculous. I am not that type of person or player.

“It was a committed challenge, mis-timed I admit, but nothing more sinister than that.”

Davis had claimed: “Brown tried to break my leg. I know because I saw him look at me and I know he tried to do me.”
