Capt Melville wants more goals

Fulham
captain Andy Melville has demanded his side rediscover their scoring touch
and put fellow strugglers Ipswich to the sword at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
Ipswich's marvellous fifth-place Premiership finish last season immediately
after being promoted from the First Division is a yardstick for the big-spending
Cottagers, but so far they have miserably failed to live up to their billing
and slumped to just two points off the foot of the table.

Town are one point nearer rock-bottom and
centre-back Melville has urged his team-mates to rekindle last season's
blistering form in front of goal and send George Burley's side back to Suffolk
with a good hiding.
Jean Tigana's men cracked 90 goals in 46 games as they sailed to the Division
One title last term, but the opposition's net has bulged just seven times
in eight games this season - a tally that Melville says must be improved.
"We need to be more lethal in front of goal," the former Sunderland
regular said.
"We need people scoring goals from all over the park - defenders, midfielders
and strikers. We also need to score more from set-pieces and we've worked
on that in training this week.
"Everyone thought we were going to walk into the Premiership, play
teams off the park and win like we did last year - but it just hasn't happened.
"Performance-wise, we've been okay, but it's disappointing we haven't
put enough points on the board. In a lot of games, we've been on top, but
haven't finished teams off."
The Cottagers have pinpointed the clash with Ipswich, followed by the home
date with lowly Southampton six days later, as a winnable six-point haul.
Melville added: "We've got two home games coming up, and you always
look to win your home games. We've only won one game this season. That's
been disappointing and our aim is to win these two games."
