Fulham owner Mohamed Al Fayed insists Kevin Keegan will be the guest of honour at the promotion party if his club makes it to the Premiership.
He has been outraged at the way Keegan's reputation has been besmirched, with allegations of the former England coach's participation in big-money card games with the national squad and his inability to heal dressing-room rifts.
Al Fayed, who brought Keegan back into football at Fulham three years ago, said: "Kevin Keegan is welcome back at Craven Cottage any time. In fact, if we win promotion he will be guest of honour at the celebration party.
"It is very easy to kick a man when he is down and that is what is going on right now. I know he is a first-class manager and a first-class man."
