Clark of Fulham |

Fulham midfielder Lee Clark appears to have
pledged his future to the Club after the Cottagers picked up the First Division
Championship trophy on Saturday.
There has been speculation that the Geordie ace would be seeking a move
back to the North of England in the summer but Clark seems to have dispelled
any doubts that hell be a Fulham player come August when he said.
The Premiership is where you want to be and Im looking forward
to it with the players and the Manager of this Club.
This is what weve worked hard for from the middle of June last
year. We got our heads down, came back early and worked hard and we took
on board everything the Manager wanted us to do.
Even though Ive done it twice before its a special feeling
having your family come down and your children on the pitch celebrating
something like this with you. Its a terrific day
Clark, a self confessed Newcastle United fanatic also made it clear where
his loyalties will lie when Fulham meet the Magpies next season in the top
flight adding:
It will be a very special day for me. I have always made clear my
love for Newcastle and that they are my team.
But I want to put on record for the Fulham fans that when we play
Newcastle there wont be anyone who is prepared to give more for Fulham
Football Club than me. I will want Fulham to win on that day.
Clark also wanted to pay tribute to the supporters with whom he has built
a very special relationship since his arrival at the Club.
Id like to say thank you and good luck to our supporters. I
hope they enjoy their summer.
They are very special people and theyve done brilliant for their
Club. I didnt realise what sort of position they were in not so long
ago.
We take things for granted sometimes maybe. But this Club nearly went
out of existence and for a day like this to happen is a special day for
special supporters. |
