Coleman believes Boa Morte tagged by Refs

Fulham boss Chris Coleman believes Luis Boa Morte has been "tagged" by referees and has urged his club captain to be more cautious.

Boa Morte missed Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Birmingham because of his dismissal against West Brom when two reckless tackles resulted in yellow cards.

But while Coleman knows Boa Morte - who returns for Saturday's clash with Blackburn - can be indisciplined, he feels the Portuguese winger is harshly treated by officials.

"Luis is passionate and one of the nicest people you could meet, inside or outside football. There's no side to him," he said.

"I think he finds it difficult sometimes because of the way he is. He likes to express himself on the pitch and likes making the connection with people.

"Sometimes nowadays the referees are a brick wall. There's no relationship.

"He's also been tagged from season before. He's stupid sometimes and knows that. That's why he has to try even harder.

"He'll get pulled up on things because of his history - but that's the way it is. "I think he'd have to be machine-gunned to get a penalty. I can't remember that last time he got one for us. "He gets free-kicks all over the park, he gives them away as well, but in the box I can't remember the last time we got a penalty from him which is astonishing."
