Fulham boss Chris Coleman felt his Fulham side were unlucky to lose 2-1 to Bolton.

Gary Speed fired Bolton ahead from the penalty spot on 23 minutes, before Kevin Nolan doubled their advantage early in the second half after Stelios Giannakopoulos had struck the woodwork.

Zat Knight pulled a goal back for The Cottagers after 65 minutes but Fulham could not force an equaliser.

"We're disappointed of course," Coleman told Sky Sports.

"It was never going to be easy, Bolton are in the top five and it's always difficult to come to the Reebok Stadium.

"Before the first goal has gone in I thought we were the team who looked more like scoring, and we were disappointed to go in at half time 1-0 down, although it hadn't been a great game.

"Then I thought we gave them a goal at the start of the second half. It wasn't good defending at the second phase.

"We got ourselves back into it with a great header from Zat Knight, and then we've had a goal disallowed and a free kick given against Brian McBride just for jumping."

There were few complaints on the pitch as McBride's effort was ruled out following a collision with Jaaskelainen, but Coleman believes the goal should have stood.

"Jaaselainen's jumped into Brian, or they have jumped into each other, and you can tell by Jaaskelainnen's reaction," said Coleman.

"After the ball has spilled out he's tried to get it. He's not looking for a free kick."
