Fulham boss Chris Coleman has promised to take disciplinary action against Luis Boa Morte after he was sent off for a bad tackle in the closing stages of Sunday's 2-1 defeat by Liverpool.

The Portuguese winger was booked for dissent after the Reds' Danny Murphy scored the winning goal from the penalty spot in the 89th minute, but still had time to scythe down Florent Sinama-Pongolle with a thigh-high challenge and earn a straight red card.

Afterwards, a disappointed Coleman said: "The maximum fine is two weeks' wages. I am not saying that is what I will do. But I will speak to Luis about it, and he will be disciplined.

"It was an horrific challenge and it is lucky their lad was not hurt too badly.

"You can't condone that sort of thing, and I have no complaints at all about the red card.

"I think the world of Luis. He is a lovely lad but he gets frustrated and lacks discipline at times."
