Collins back for Stockport?

last updated Sunday 31st December 2000, 2:02 PM
Fulham could have influential midfielder John Collins back.

The former Scotland international captain has missed the last four games with hamstring trouble as the Cottagers stretched their lead at the top of the table to 10 points.

With Fulham's home clash with Birmingham on Saturday postponed, Bolton failed to cut the gap after a surprise 1-0 home defeat by fellow promotion rivals West Brom.

Jean Tigana's side will put the division's only unbeaten away record on the line against a Stockport side who have won only twice at home in 12 games.

Fulham will be hoping to avoid a slip-up in their preparations for a mouth-watering FA Cup third-round tie with Premiership champions and leaders Manchester United at Craven Cottage next Sunday.

Stockport boss Andy Kilner has a goalkeeping crisis ahead of the clash with First Division leaders Fulham at Edgeley Park.

Kilner has been forced to recall Carlo Nash from Wolves a third of the way through his three-month loan at Molineux.

Lee Jones was forced off with concussion just 12 minutes into the 3-2 defeat by Wolves at Molineux.

He was replaced by a partially-fit Andy Dibble, who aggravated his sprained wrist during the game.

Kilner said: "We will probably be without Lee Jones for two or three weeks and Andy has to be a doubt.

"Our only other keeper is a 19-year-old, Sam Turner, and it is a big ask for him to step in for big games like this."
