Fulham skipper Danny Murphy hopes Fulham can clinch seventh spot and equal the club's best-ever Premier League finish.

The Whites are 10th in the table with five games remaining, but still have to play some of their rivals in the run-in.

And Murphy hopes Martin Jol's men can repeat the feat of 2009 and snatch seventh spot in front of Everton and Liverpool.

"Last year we finished eighth so we will try and better that," said the Fulham captain.

"We know it's going to be difficult because we've got some tricky away games coming up, like Everton and Liverpool.

"We'll keep going and have shown in recent weeks that we've got good strength in depth."

Fulham face Wigan at the weekend.
