Fulham stars Sean Davis and Zat Knight have been selected for England U21 to play in the European U21 Championships.

Knight won his first cap as a second-half substitute in Slovenia and started the recent game against Italy. Davis made his debut for the U21s in the 4-0 win over Finland in March 2001 and has won 10 caps so far, scoring one goal along the way.

Fulham defender Zat Knight Fulham midfielder Sean DavisDavid Platt today named his squad for the European Under-21 Championships in Switzerland - then challenged them to go out and fulfil their potential.

The Under-21s boss has selected a strong line-up for the tournament, which gets under way a week today.

Platt was delighted with the men at his disposal and will fly out on Tuesday determined to return with something to show for his side's efforts.

"This is an excellent squad and one I am delighted to be taking to Switzerland. We have vast potential and now is the time to realise it."

England open their campaign against hosts Switzerland in Zurich on May 17 before taking on Italy in Basel on May 20 and Portugal in their remaining group matches.

Platt's side have lost just one of the nine games they have played under their new manager - last month's friendly against Portugal - the only team to beat them during Platt's reign - two days later back at Zurich's Stadion Hardturm.
