Fulham midfielder Mahamadou Diarra will not play for Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations as he continues his recuperation from injury.
The 31-year-old has been struggling with a knee problem and has not featured for the Cottagers since their 3-0 defeat by Tottenham on 1 December.
Fulham manager Martin Jol has made his frustration clear over the fact that Mali still intended to call up Diarra for the tournament, which begins on 19 January.
However, after considering the advice of Fulham's medical team, Mali have reviewed the situation and Diarra will leave their training camp to continue his rehabilitation in London.
