Fulham midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi will still be seeking clarity on his playing future despite being handed another year on his contract at English Premiership Fulham.

The London club exercised the extra year on his current deal without entering into talks with the player, keeping him at the club until 2012.

The 26-year-old's agent, Mike Makaab, says they will now engage The Cottagers as to his future prospects under manager Mark Hughes.

"We are not happy with the fact that he is not getting the necessary game-time at Fulham and we will be discussing his future with the club's management in the coming weeks," Makaab says. "The club extended the player's contract unilaterally."

It is conceivable that Fulham still see an exit for Dikgacoi in either the January transfer window or the end of the season, and by adding the extra year to his contract, they will ensure a greater fee.

Dikgacoi's initial deal would have run out at the end of the 2010/11 season, meaning he would have left for next to nothing in January, or on a free transfer at the end of the season. But now that he is tied down for another campaign, any prospective transfer fee will increase.

But Hughes has spoken of his desire to keep the player at Craven Cottage and says he is in the club's plans.

"KG's a good player, and like a number of players who aren't playing, there's a little bit of frustration I'm sure," Hughes said. "He's a player we want to keep here. We've taken up the option on his contract so that shows our intent in his regards.

"We don't intend to let him out either. We will try and keep players who can have an impact for us at the club."

Dikgacoi has made just one substitute appearance for the club all season.
