Papa Bouba Diop's agent insists "there are no problems" with talks over a new Fulham contract - and hopes to have it signed "soon".

Reports had suggested negotiations over a new deal for the Senegal midfielder had been put on hold following changes at boardroom level.

But agent Craig Hutchison says the departure of director Lee Hoos, who previously handled contract talks at Craven Cottage, simply meant the baton had been passed on.

Arsenal and Manchester United had been monitoring the situation as they have both been linked with a summer move for Diop.

But Hutchison insists the 28-year-old is happy to stick with Chris Coleman's troops, despite their inconsistent form this season.

He said: "There are no problems at all with Papa's contract. The baton has simply been passed on.

"Discussions are ongoing and I hope to have a new contract in place soon.

"People have been putting two and two together since the management restructure and arriving at the wrong sum."
