Chris Coleman, the Fulham manager, has agreed a £3m deal with Portsmouth for Amdy Faye as a replacement for Sean Davis, who signed for Tottenham Hotspur last week.

Coleman moved fast for the Cameroon midfielder who will take over Davis' midfield holding role. The former Auxerre player, who was travelling to London yesterday for talks and a medical, had only been at Fratton Park for a season.
