Crewe boss Dario Gradi has confirmed his interest
in bringing Fulham ace Wayne Collins back to Gresty Road.
The Alex boss has made an enquiry about the unsettled 32-year-old who made
over 100 appearances for the club, scoring 14 goals.
Collins cannot be guaranteed first-team football at Craven Cottage and would
be available on a free transfer, but personal terms must be agreed and it
is not yet known whether the player would leave London.
Gradi said: "I have spoken to Wayne Collins and he would be the type
of player who would make a difference to us. He is a super lad and extremely
fit.
"It is just a question of whether Wayne wants to leave London and if
we can agree a sensible deal with him.
"I won't break the wage structure we have in place here because we
can't afford to pay huge wages because of the revenue we bring in, but when
a player like Wayne comes along we have to go for it."
