Newport 0 Fulham 14
Newport had also won their first two league matches and so Fulham Ladies were excited to be going to the game on equal footing.

Fulham started well and after eight minutes, Katie Chapman scored the first goal of the game. This was quickly followed by two more strikes from Katie in the just 15 minutes.

The team played good attacking football with one or two touch passing and where 9-0 to the good at half-time after Marianne Pettersen, Rachel Yankey and Margunn Haugenes also registered for the Whites.

The attacking play continued in the second half. Three substitutions were made on 55 minutes (Deena Rahman, Sanchia Duncan and Ronnie Gibbons) and this combination helped to create a lot of scoring opportunities.

Although Fulham went on to score 5 more goals in the second half, the final result might have been even more convincing with sharper finishing.

Gaute Haugenes, the Ladies Team Manager, commented:

"Apart from a very good passing game, the one thing that pleased me most was that we were well organised at set pieces.

"Six of the goals came from moves we had practiced in training."
