Fulham are believed to have reached an agreement with Twente Enschede to sign highly-rated striker Collins John, according to reports in Holland.
Reports in the Dutch media suggest a fee in the region of €6 million (£4 million) has been agreed between the two clubs.
John has been one of the revelations of the Eredivisie season and has netted nine goals in 18 appearances for Twente.
Born in Liberia, the teenager holds Dutch nationality and has already figured for the country's youth teams.
He has been watched by Manchester City this term but Fulham have moved to pip their Premiership rivals to John's signature.
Fulham will have to act swiftly to wrap up a deal for the young forward before the closure of the transfer window.
Alternatively, given John's age, Coleman could decide to allow the player to remain at Twente for the rest of the season to accrue greater experience before making the step up to The Premiership.
