Fulham have signed Japan World Cup star Junichi Inamoto in a deal which could keep the former Arsenal player with the west London club until 2006.
The 22- year-old Japanese World Cup star failed to feature in the Premiership for the Gunners last season and his club Gamba Osaka have allowed him to switch to Craven Cottage, with an option for a further three-year stay.
Fulham made an official announcement this morning and Inamoto will be unveiled at a signing ceremony on Friday.
He scored two goals for his country in the World Cup and is guaranteed to continue his role as a valuable marketing tool in the Japanese market.
The midfielder was due to join up with his new team-mates for training following their return from their Intertoto Cup victory in Finland.
Inamoto said: "London still appeals to me, I have decided on my future.
"I will go to Fulham where they will play me. I have always thought it would be difficult to make it in England. It is very physical, but I can cope."
Fulham believe the 22-year-old will be one of the season's transfer coups.
