Fulham have blasted reports that Jean Tigana is to be sacked as manager
and replaced at Craven Cottage by former Chelsea boss Ruud Gullit.
The newspaper speculation claimed Cottagers chairman Mohamed Al Fayed had
become increasingly frustrated at Tigana's supposed failings in the transfer
market.

Chairman Al Fayed was reportedly on the brink of ditching Tigana in the
summer and appointing flamboyant Dutchman Gullit in his place.
But Chairman Al Fayed is said to be fuming at the rumours and believes a
'dirty tricks' campaign is being waged to oust Tigana from the Fulham hot
seat.
"I can say quite categorically that these rumours are complete and utter rubbish," said club spokesman Chester Stern.
"The chairman fully backs Jean Tigana, and there is no interest in any other manager in the world.
"We believe this is part of a long running dirty tricks campaign devised to unsettle the players and manager at a crucial time of the season.
"Let me state quite clearly that Jean Tigana has always had the chairman's
total support and nothing has changed."
Stern also warned that legal action could follow:
"The reports are scandalous and we haven't ruled out the possibility
of taking legal action."
