Manager Chris Coleman insists he now has a squad capable of maintaining a top-10 place in the Barclays Premiership but Rosenior says it is also important for them to begin challenging for a European spot.

He added: "When teams first come up the talk is always of consolidating and keeping their Premier League status. We are past that now; we need to push on and start challenging for European places, getting to the later stages of the cups and, with this squad, I think that is more than possible.

"This is without doubt the strongest squad we have had during my time at the club. With the team we have I think there is no reason why we shouldn't be in the top eight, maybe even the top six. Modern football means we need a big squad and I think we have talent throughout the team to ensure players will fill in with ease."
