Fulham boss Martin Jol has confirmed he will try to send David Stockdale out on loan after stressing he has no plans to sell the goalkeeper.

Stockdale made seven Premier League appearances for Fulham last season when deputising for Mark Schwarzer and he was also called into the England squad.

Veteran Australian keeper Schwarzer is expected to be Jol's first choice in the coming season and that has prompted question marks over Stockdale's future at Craven Cottage.

However, the 25-year-old has impressed new goalkeeping coach Hans Segers and Jol feels the shot-stopper would benefit from going out on loan.

"We saw him in training and Hans Segers said he's a big talent," said Jol.

"I won't sell him because I think his future is bright, but the only thing is we need a club which will promise me he will play every week."

Stockdale joined Fulham in 2008 from Darlington and has already undertaken loan spells at Rotherham United, Leicester City and Plymouth Argyle.
