Fulham have rejected Swansea's request to take keeper David Stockdale on loan for the season.
Now new boss Martin Jol has challenged Stockdale, 25, to prove he is ready to take the No 1 shirt from Mark Schwarzer.
Swansea chief Brendan Rodgers wants the England squad man to take over from Dorus De Vries, who has joined Wolves.
But Jol insists Stockdale is staying after impressing him in training.
Jol said: "Schwarzer and Stockdale are both part of my plans for the new season. There's no way Stockdale will go to any other club."
