Fulham splash the cash on Legwinski

Fulham today clinched the £3.3million signing of Bordeaux's French midfielder Sylvain Legwinski on a four-year contract.
The 27-year-old, who played for Cottagers boss Jean Tigana when he was manager of Monaco, passed a medical this morning.
Tigana said: 'I am delighted to welcome Sylvain to Fulham. I have great confidence in his playing ability as I have worked with him previously at Monaco.
'I think he will be a great asset in strengthening the squad, and I look forward to him playing for us.'
Legwinski played almost every game for Monaco in the 1996-97 season, when the team won the French Championship and reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup.
He joined Bordeaux in January 2000 and made 32 appearances for the Girondins last season.
Legwinski, like Tigana's other summer signings, opted to join the Craven Cottage revolution after hearing of chairman Mohamed Al Fayed's determination to establish the club in the top flight.
He said: 'I have played under Jean at Monaco, and also with (Fulham midfielder) John Collins, and I have heard great things about the vision of the club.
'When I knew that Jean Tigana was manager at Fulham, it was a great ambition of mine to work with him again. When the opportunity arose it was an easy decision for me to make to leave Bordeaux.
'I am looking forward to playing football in the Premiership and I have great hopes for Fulham and myself.'
Clermont-Ferrand-born Legwinski has become Tigana's latest big-money coup after frantic transfer activity throughout August at Craven Cottage.
Dutch international goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar joined in an audacious £7million switch from Juventus, while Steed Malbranque signed for £4.5million from Lyon. Chelsea's Jon Harley also completed a £3.5million move from west London rivals Chelsea and £2million Abdeslam Ouaddou arrived from Nancy.
And only yesterday, Fulham revealed they have launched another megabucks transfer raid on Lyon for Malbranque's former team-mate, 27-year-old French international striker Steve Marlet.
Al Fayed is believed to have bankrolled another potential transfer-record fee in the region of £10million, but the French club are reluctant to allow Marlet to move across the Channel until the side's injury problems ease.
Fulham officials are battling to win international clearance for Legwinski to feature in tonight's first home Premiership match of the season, against Sunderland.
The club must have all the necessary paperwork completed by the 4pm deadline. If the forms are all in order, Legwinski will start on the bench.
