Fulham striker Andrew Johnson will fly to Denver this week for another consultation with renowned knee surgeon Dr Richard Steadman.
Johnson had been back in pre-season training with his Fulham team-mates and thought he was over his problems, but broke down last week.
Steadman, who performed surgery on his knee last February, will now conduct another exploratory operation on the £35,000 -a-week Fulham striker, who has not played for the club since aggravating the problem against Blackburn in January.
The 29-year-old former Everton and Crystal Palace forward will be in the company of Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves, who is visiting Steadman again after struggling to overcome tendinitis in both knees.
