Fulham striker Pavel Pogrebnyak claims to have settled quickly at Fulham and is hoping to make his Premier League debut against Stoke on Saturday.

The Russia international has been granted a visa and has attended his first training session with the Cottagers.

He signed for the club on transfer deadline day, but has had to wait for the opportunity to make his bow in English football.

The 28-year-old striker could, however, be handed a chance to impress against the Potters this weekend, with Martin Jol having indicated that he is ready to make use of his latest acquisition.

"I hope I can play and make my debut," Pogrebnyak told Sovetsky Sport.

"I've talked to Martin Jol about it and he asked if I am ready to play. I answered 'yes'.

"I said I feel great and I want to be part of the team as soon as possible."

Pogrebnyak is convinced he made the right choice in swapping life in Germany with Stuttgart for that in London with Fulham, but admits the language barrier is proving to be a problem.

"I have had my first training session and the atmosphere was very pleasant, I liked everything," he said.

"My first impressions have been great.

"Three or four of the guys speak German, so I was able to talk to them. It's difficult to speak English because I have forgotten a lot. I will attend English lessons soon."
