Fulham have confirmed that they have lodged an appeal against Luis Boa Morte's
red card received at Craven Cottage last weekend against Everton.
The Portuguese striker was ordered off for his part in the 77th-minute brawl
that erupted when he put in a strong challenge on Toffees defender David
Weir. According to reports Weir, the Everton player also red carded, is
claiming that the Fulham striker bit him during the brawl at Craven Cottage
on Saturday 8th Dec.
Boa Morte is now facing a four-match ban after being sent off for the second
time this season.
Fulham's players and management staff lined up to defend Boa Morte after
the match, and Fulham assistant boss Christian Damiano said: "He was
unlucky to be sent off, just like he was earlier in the season. We didn't
think it was right."
Striker Louis Saha added: "Luis was very unlucky to be sent off. He
was still on the ground and a foot went in on his head. That was not fair
play and I was very upset. "If it was me I would maybe have stood up
and done something bad. So I think Luis did well."
