Fulham Boss Chris Coleman will give top scorer, Luis Boa Morte, until the 11th hour to prove he has recovered from the injury which ruled him out of Saturday's 0-0 home draw with Wolves.

The Portuguese winger was sorely missed but still has a tender hamstring and could well be absent again against United.

"It's possible Boa could play but he'll have to improve over the next 24 hours," Coleman added.

"We lacked penetration and pace without him on Saturday and were a bit sloppy.

"In the Premiership you need players who can produce something out of nothing and Boa's one of them."

Forward Facundo Sava (shoulder) is still sidelined, while midfielder Sean Davis will step up his return from a knee injury in the reserves tonight - so is not expected to feature against Newcastle.

Newcastle boss Sir Bobby Robson is keeping his fingers crossed over striker Craig Bellamy as the forward flew off to America for more surgery on his injured knee.

Robson has left behind Peruvian midfielder Nolberto Solano after he stormed out of the dressing room on Saturday following the manager's decision not to play him against Middlesbrough.

"I have left him out of the squad and he will stay at home in Newcastle," said Robson.

Solano was not the only player not to board the plane for the capital after in-form midfielder Kieron Dyer was ruled out with a hamstring problem and full-back Andy Griffin damaged a knee in training, although both men are expected to be fit for Saturday's visit of Portsmouth to St James' Park.
