Birmingham Manager Alex McLeish has admitted that Blues will not be making a play for Hameur Bouazza.
The winger joined on loan from Fulham in January and made 16 appearances, including seven off the substitutes bench, as Blues bagged runners-up spot in the Championship.
Blues have the option of signing the £3million-rated Algerian international permanently, but McLeish confirmed that they would not be doing so.
“We’ve got to be careful what we do with the resources that we’ve got and unfortunately Hameur is a little too rich for us,” he said.
McLeish admitted last week that he had not been happy all season with Blues wingers’ consistency and Bouazza, after an initial impressive flurry as a starter, had to fight for a place on the bench as the season drew to a close.
