Brede Hangeland has for all intents and purposes agreed a new deal to stay at Fulham according to Skysports.

Hangeland has been continually linked with a move away from Craven Cottage after attracting interest from a number of top clubs.

The likes of Arsenal and Manchester City have been linked with moves for the giant Norwegian, who has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League since his arrival from FC Copenhagen in January 2008.

Fulham have been locked in talks with Hangeland for some time as they look to keep hold of their prize asset and it is understood a deal has been agreed in principle.

Only minor details need to be resolved before the deal is rubberstamped and Hangeland is expected to put pen-to-paper in the near future.

The news will provide a massive boost to Fulham as they look to build on their achievements of qualifying for Europe last season.
