Fulham defender Brede Hangeland believes he should be fully fit to take on Blackburn on Sunday.
The Norway international defender has endured a frustrating period after sustaining a knee injury in the warm-up to the goalless Boxing Day clash with Tottenham.
While he managed to complete that match, he then missed out on the league defeat at Chelsea and the FA Cup victory over Swindon.
He tried to make a comeback in the 3-2 loss at Stoke on 5th January but had to be replaced at half-time having felt some discomfort in his knee.
But the 28-year-old, who recently signed a contract extension to remain at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2013, believes he should be able to feature at Ewood Park.
Hangeland said "I'm training now, which is a good thing.
"It's going in the right direction and hopefully I should be OK for the weekend.
"The injury happened in the warm-up before the Tottenham game. I managed to play through that game and tried to play again against Stoke but it was probably a little bit too early, so the sensible thing was to go off at half-time before it got any worse.
"After that it's been gradually improving so I hope it's fine for the weekend."
The defender was glad that last weekend's clash against Portsmouth was postponed because of the weather as it gave him extra time to recover.
"You always want to play but for me personally I wasn't too unhappy that the game was called off because I needed the extra week to help get the injury sorted," he said.
"We've had a little break but the down side is the games will be piling up later on. So we just have to get going again at the weekend.
"You work a bit harder in training when there's no game so we've done some fitness work to keep our standards up to prepare for the game against Blackburn."
Fulham beat Blackburn 3-0 at Craven Cottage earlier in the season but Hangeland is expecting a testing clash at Ewood Park.
He added: "Any game in the Premier League is a tough one, I would always say that, and away from home is always a big challenge.
"I'm not sure why we're better playing at home than away but we'll be doing our very best to make sure we pick up some more points on the road.
"We weren't at all happy with the performance at Stoke and Sunday is our first chance to bounce back from that."
Hangeland recently won Norway's 'Team Player of the Year' award and he admits he was shocked to lift the award.
"I was surprised and honoured to win it," he said. "All the team sports like handball, football and ice hockey are included so it was a big honour for me.
"I'll take any award they want to give me - but since it's a Team Player award I guess I'll have to share it with my team-mates here."
