Jean
Tigana Manager of Champions Fulham

GEOFF Horsfield has made a vow to get his own back on Jean Tigana in the Premiership
next season.
But first the former Fulham star must plot the downfall of Preston - and then
shoot Birmingham to play-off final glory.
Horsfield, 28, was upset at being shown the door by Frenchman Tigana from Craven
Cottage. He was sold to Trevor Francis for a St Andrews transfer record of pounds
2.25million, with Tigana's words that he was "too aggressive" burning
in his ears.
Well, Birmingham fans love nothing more than to see their joint top scorer
putting the strong-arm on opposing defences. And Horsfield insists he can only
play one way - that's physically, and with total commitment.
The striker, whose 11 goals have helped the Midlands outfit get to within a
few games of a potential long-awaited return to the top flight, insisted: "A
leopard cannot change its spots. I am a big striker, so it would be stupid not
to use my attributes.

The
Horse wants to prove Jean Tigana wrong

"If my style wasn't good enough for Jean Tigana then that's his problem,
not mine.
"Anyway, my Fulham days are history.
"I still have a soft spot for the club because they gave me my big professional
chance. I'll always be grateful to Kevin Keegan, but now my heart is at Birmingham.
"This club is a sleeping giant. It should have been in the top flight years
ago, but things have not gone well. "The fans here are so passionate and
have been very patient in waiting for the time they can rub shoulders with Aston
Villa again.
"We have a strong and very talented squad. If we play to our best ability
I can see us not just beating Preston, but going on to win promotion. "The
Birmingham supporters are as good as any in the country. And they would flock
to Cardiff in their droves if we got there.
"Birmingham have been involved in the play-offs before but I really believe
this is our big opportunity. And if we do get into the Premiership we have the
foundations to stay there a long time. "There's no reason why we couldn't
do an Ipswich if we do manage to win promotion. That has to be the target. "But
at the moment we're not looking any further than the two games against Preston.
"It's going to be so close. We've beaten each other this season, so it will
be who holds their form best over 180 minutes
