Fulham midfielder Junichi Inamoto |
Fulham midfielder Junichi Inamoto finished down the field in the prestigious "Ballon d'Or" eventually won by Ronaldo. Junichi had to settle for tieing in 27th spot with the likes of Beckham, Giggs, Kluivert, Totti, Trezeguet, Vieri and Wiltord. Hopefully he will do well enough this season to be nominated again next year.
In the mean time the Japanese International will visit Fulham's club doctor on Monday to find out how seriously he was injured in Sunday's clash with Birmingham.
Inamoto came on as a second-half substitute against Blues but lasted just six minutes before having to be subbed himself by debutant Calum Willock.
The midfielder has had a brilliant start to his season netting 6 goals so far, 2 in the Premiership and 4 in Europe and it is hoped the injury is nothing more than an ankle twist.
Assistant manager Christian Damiano said: "We don't know how serious it is. It looks like he has twisted his ankle but we will wait to see what the doctor says."
